Units are a preference, not a philosophy. What matters is picking one, staying consistent, and knowing your jumps.
Kilograms or pounds — the internet will happily argue about it for you. The honest answer: it does not matter which you pick, only that you pick one and stop switching.
In kilos your smallest useful increment is usually 1.25 kg per side, giving a 2.5 kg total jump. In pounds it is often a 5 lb jump, sometimes 2.5 lb with fractional plates. Knowing your smallest honest increase is what makes progressive overload gradual instead of a wall you slam into.
The best unit is the one your gym plates actually let you load.
Bikkel lets you flip between KG and LB in Settings and the whole app follows — history, charts and the plate calculator all convert cleanly. Choose the unit that matches the iron in front of you, then never think about it again.
