The Bikkel manifesto

Nobody is coming
to lift it for you.

A bikkel is a knucklebone — the hard little bone from a street game older than any gym. To call someone a bikkel is to say they are tough, stubborn, unbreakable. It is not a compliment you are given. It is one you earn.

Most fitness apps sell you a feeling. Confetti, badges, a coach in your pocket whispering that you are doing great. Bikkel doesn't. The iron already told you the truth on the last rep, and it will tell you again on the next one. Our job is only to remember it — honestly, forever.

Discipline is the
only shortcut.

You do not need more motivation. Motivation is weather. You need a logbook with a spine — one that shows you the streak you are about to break, the set you actually did last week, the line that only moves when you do. Numbers do not flatter and numbers do not lie. That is the point.

So log the work. Hold the line. Add the weight. Come back tomorrow and do it again when it is boring, when it is heavy, when nobody is watching. That is where tough is made — in the reps nobody claps for.

The creed
  1. 01Show up when you do not feel like it.
  2. 02Log the set — the honest number, not the flattering one.
  3. 03Add weight before you add excuses.
  4. 04Rest is part of the work, not a reward for it.
  5. 05Compare yourself to last week, never to the feed.
  6. 06Miss a day. Do not miss two.

Earn the name.

Wat een bikkel.
